Metal braces are made of high-grade stainless steel or titanium. These braces are useful for certain types of orthodontics cases. At our office, we customize the type of appliances we use to each patient’s treatment needs.
Damon Brackets
Self-ligating braces have a sliding door that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket. This technology creates less friction and results in greater comfort for the patient. By having less friction, fewer permanent teeth need to be extracted in crowded cases. Also, these braces have allowed us to eliminate expansion appliances.
Ceramic Braces
We use translucent braces with advanced technology to eliminate the need for elastic ties that can discolor between visits. These are most popular with adults due to their cosmetic appeal.
Invisalign
The Invisalign system is a series of clear overlay templates – called aligners – that have been generated by computer simulation to gradually move the teeth. This system is available to adult patients with certain orthodontic bite problems. Ask us if you are a candidate for the Invisalign system.
